In this playful and adorable Easter exercise, we’ll embrace imperfection and play.
Creative self-care can be an excellent way to manage stress and burnout, especially for busy moms who often put their own needs last. This Easter exercise is a fun and simple way to get started with incorporating creativity into your life, and it’s perfect for the holiday season!
One of the great things about this exercise is that it’s not about achieving perfection. In fact, the imperfections and variations in your circles are what will make your chicks unique and interesting. This exercise is all about letting go of your expectations and having fun with the creative process.
And if you’re a mom who struggles with perfectionism, this exercise is a great way to challenge yourself to let go of your expectations and embrace the beauty in imperfection. The more you practice letting go and playing with creativity, the easier it will become to apply these lessons to other areas of your life.
So go ahead and give this Easter exercise a try! Don’t worry about making your chicks perfect – just have fun with the process and see where your creativity takes you.
I hope you have some well-deserved creative me-time with this playful and adorable Easter exercise!

Supplies used:
Watercolor paper (Fabriano), ecoline (Royal Talens), paint brush (da Vinci), fineliner 0.3 (Copic), colored pencils (Faber-Castell), paper towel, water in a jar, and washi tape.
Alternative supply suggestions:
You can use your kids’ watercolor paints or other paint.
You can also draw circles with other materials, such as colored pencils, crayons, markers, or a regular pencil.
When you use a pencil, try to draw your circles quickly. This will make them a bit more imperfect and wonky.
Step 1
Before you start, slowly breathe in and out a few times to clear your head. Then, bring yourself to the present, away from all the day-to-day stress.
You can use any colors you like, but yellow is perfect for making chicks!
Paint circles on your page using watercolors. Don’t worry about making them perfect! Remember, this exercise is all about playing and exploring.
Your chicks will look even more fun if your circles are a bit wonky.
Step 2
Use the pen to add eyes, a beak, and legs to your circles. This will turn them into adorable little chicks!
Don’t think about it too much. A triangle for the beak, dots for the eyes, and some lines for the legs are enough to make them look adorable.
Step 3
Finally, use colored pencils to add a bit more texture to your chicks. You can add some shading, highlights, or other details to make them really pop.
And that’s it! You’ve created a beautiful and fun Easter-themed artwork that you can display or give as a gift.
