Discover how meditative dot patterns can help busy moms reduce stress, enhance focus, and promote mindfulness. Try it today!

Hey busy mom! Today, I want to share a simple yet effective creative exercise that can help you find a moment of calm and joy in your day: creating dot patterns within a circle.

Why Dot Patterns?

Drawing dot patterns is a wonderful way to relax and center yourself. The repetitive motion of placing dots on paper can be incredibly soothing and meditative, helping to calm your mind and reduce stress. You don’t need to be an artist to enjoy this exercise. It’s all about the process, not the final product.

Have fun with this meditative dot pattern exercise! Please let me know if you’ve tried it; I would love to see it.

You can use any supplies you have: colored pencils, crayons, markers, watercolors, etc.

Instructions for this meditative dot pattern:

Step 1: Draw a circle

Step 1 – Draw a circle

Find a quiet and comfortable spot where you can focus. Lay out your paper and markers or dot-making tools.

Use the round object to trace a circle in the center of your paper. This will be the boundary for your dot patterns.

Step 2: Fill the circle with dots

Step 2 – Start dotting

Grab a marker or any dot-making tool and begin filling the circle with dots. There’s no right or wrong way to do this—just place dots in a pattern that feels good to you. You can create sections with different colors or mix them together.

Step 3: Place dots in a pattern that feels good to you

Step 3 – Go slow

Take your time and focus on each dot you place. The goal is to enjoy the repetitive motion and let it bring you into a meditative state. Remember, it’s not about having perfect patterns but about the calming process of dotting.

Step 4: Fill your whole circle

Step 4 – Fill your whole circle

Use different colors to create various sections within your circle. Play around with the density and spacing of the dots to see how it changes the overall look.

Don’t worry if your dots aren’t perfectly round or evenly spaced. Crooked lines and wonky dots are all okay! Embrace the imperfections and let go of any pressure to make it look a certain way.
