Instructions for this relaxing drawing:

Step 1 – Draw your wavy lines

Before you start, slowly breathe in and out a few times to clear your head. Then, bring yourself to the present, away from all the day-to-day stress.

Begin by placing a small dot or circle at the center of your page. This will be your guide.

Gently draw wavy lines from the center dot to the edges of the paper. Let these lines flow naturally, creating various sections on your page.

Step 2 – Add color

Fill each section between the wavy lines with different colors. Choose hues that speak to you or reflect your mood.

Just enjoy coloring; it can be so calming and meditative.

Step 3 – Fill your sections with patterns

Now, in each colored section, draw a pattern. If you’re unsure where to start, limit your patterns to simple elements like lines or circles.

I did that as well. I challenged myself just to draw line patterns and circular patterns.

Here are some pattern ideas: straight lines, zigzags, polka dots, small circles, leaf-like shapes, or waves. The key is to let your hand move freely and see what unfolds.

Whether you have five minutes or an hour, this wavy line art exercise is an effective way to engage in creative self-care. Especially for you as a busy mom! It’s a simple yet powerful tool to reduce stress, enhance mindfulness, and reignite your creative spark.
